Hi, Brent here! I’m really excited to welcome you to Faster, Cheaper Cloud Databases.

In most of my classes, I have lab exercises for you to follow along. This class is different because I don't expect everyone to have every flavor of cloud server. I'll be doing labs onscreen, getting your feedback as we go, but you can just focus on taking notes, asking questions, and absorbing the material.

You don't even have to bring a laptop unless you like using one for taking notes. If you do bring one, be aware that venues often don't have a power outlet for every seat. Bring a fully-charged laptop, close it when you're not using it, and plug it into a charger during the lunch break.
